How We Do: L.A. is a unique evening of musical collaborations presented by WeTransfer, the world’s most simple file transfer service. The company’s creative director Gilles Petersonis bringing together an exciting combination of cutting-edge acts like BadBadNotGood, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Naipalm, Sa-Ra Creative Partners, and more. How We Do: LA on September 28 at Ace Hotel, is the kick-off of a series of events to mark WeTransfer’s arrival in the United States, which are all about making unexpected creative connections.

Gilles Peterson: “This show will be a journey through the history of LA music starting with hip-hop from The Sa-Ra Creative Partners and ending in jazz with Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and his strings and an amazing surprise act. The eclectic BadBadNotGood combine jazz, soul and funk on to a base of improvisation and top it all off with a touch of hip-hop.” The concert will take place in the stunning setting of The Theatre at Ace Hotel, with whom WeTransfer partners up for the second year in a row. For both parties it is an obvious match: both brands stand for effortless and enriching experiences in transit.

“This is our first major event in America. Hopefully the first of many as we officially launch in the US. We are stoked at the opportunity of showcasing an amazing cross section of talent offline, hoping to highlight what makes WeTransfer stand out and why WeTransfer works.” Damian Bradfield, Chief Marketing Officer WeTransfer.

Kelly Sawdon, Chief Brand Officer Ace Hotel, says: “We’ve had a longtime affinity for WeTransfer. Together, we’ve witnessed the overwhelming response that can come from supporting unique talents, connecting the dots between art, technology and everyday life. We’re eager to see their capacity for sharing brought to life on the stage in Los Angeles.”

WeTransfer is the simplest way to send your files from one to many. Last year, its users sent over one billion files. WeTransfer promotes some of the world’s leading brands through full screen advertising and helps support the creative community by giving away one third of their ad inventory – the equivalent of $27m a year – to showcase artists, designers, musicians and creative organisations. Founded in 2009, the team is based in Amsterdam and now; Los Angeles.

The Theatre at Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles is Ace’s loving re-animation of the historic United Artists Theater. Built in 1927 for the maverick film studio founded by Mary Pickford, Charlie Chaplin and Douglas Fairbanks, The Theatre stands as a monument to a group of seminal American artists — modern iconoclasts striking out on their own. Ace’s restoration of this majestic space serves as a singular stage for art, film, dance and creative celebration in the heart of the Broadway Theater District’s vibrant modern renaissance.
