Ciao Sparrow & Barbossa! What’s up?

Amazing, just came back from our LATAM tour and back in the studio for a few days.

We’re absolutely loving your new single ’Bien Buena’. What can listeners expect?

Thank you. Bien Buena is out now on all streaming and DJ platforms, and will have its music video release a week later, recorded in Caracas, Venezuela. The track has been receiving incredible support from global DJs.

Is there a particular message behind this title?

Bien Buena is a Latin house collaboration with Eribertho Cruz, and a direct one way trip to Cuba. It mixes cuban cha-cha vibes with powerful synths to create an ideal Latin house music dance floor banger.

Has this single been in the works for a long time? And was there anything that influenced/inspired its creation?

It is definitely Cuba inspired, it also features some Guitars from Sparrow’s dad Francis Coletta, making it a family affair. We started working on it somewhere last summer in Switzerland.

We understand that you have a new album coming out later this year? We’d love to hear more!

Our second album project has been going on for almost two years now. It has been entirely co-developed with Francis Coletta, Sparrow’s father. It features collaborations with the Gypsy Kings, Eribertho Cruz, G Zamora, Maria De Moraes, Starving Yet Full (Ex. Azari & III), Idd Aziz amongst others. Réciprocité will also be our new live performance for the coming years and it’s by far the project we’re most excited about so far.

Hailing from Switzerland and Uruguay, what was the music scene like in your respective countries growing up?

Barbossa was essentially playing in Salsa bands in Uruguay while he was living there until he moved to Ibiza where’s he’s been both a percussionist and resident dj of Space Ibiza for over 15 years. Sparrow on the other side was involved in the melodic and deep house Scene of Lausanne Switzerland where he evolved as a resident dj also at world’s famous D Club.

Why did you move to Madrid, out of interest?

Barbossa moved 20 years ago with his family to develop himself as an artist here; Sparrow moved to Madrid 7 years ago because of a girlfriend he had there. Having met here we both decided to stay.

What are your top 3 records to play out at the moment?

Science – Sebastian Rivero [Tortuga]

Montañita (Sparrow & Barbossa Caribbean Twist) – Sebastian Rivero [Forthcoming on Tortuga]

Champion – Sparrow & Barbossa [Forthcoming on Rampa’s VOD]

What do you like to do when you’re not making music?

Listen to some ! We both listen to over 6 hours of music daily, it is more than only an occupation for us it is a passion and a reason to be.

Lastly, what does the rest of the year look like for you, both in terms of touring and releases?

The Réciprocité album will be releasing gradually through singles until June when the full album will release. Gig wise, we will be essentially focused on Europe for summer, Ibiza, Mykonos etc, and then back to Latin America for Winter (Tulum, Colombia, Venezuela etc)
