Ookay makes his triumphant return with the hybrid banger “Buck,” recently premiered on ThisSongIsSick.com. In a 160 BPM blur of frenzied lasers and horns, the bass kingpin keeps you on your toes throughout the build before uncaging a rabid trap drop.
“Buck” is the latest highlight in a string of 2016 hits for Ookay. He set the Internet on fire with his A-Trak collaboration “Only One,” earning accolades from Pitchfork, The Fader, and Hypetrak. On his Complex–approved YDG collaboration “Pop It Off,” Ookay unveiled his knack for penning vocals, as he stepped behind the mic for the first time. He continued his lyrical dominance by singing on his saxophone-laden summer anthem “Thief,” which became an instant overnight success. The single has been streamed over 7M times on Soundcloud and YouTube combined and received support from a wide spectrum of A-list DJs, from Martin Garrix and Tiësto to DJ Mustard and Marshmello.
Alongside Ookay’s ever-growing catalog of music are his larger than life performances. He spent the first half of summer gracing major festival stages playing sets at Coachella, Tomorrowland, TomorrowWorld, and Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas. Now he is back on the road headlining his own Thief World Tour. Be sure to catch the young “buck” this fall as he brings the rodeo to a city near you.
