Your tour “Forever Young” recently took you to Guatemala & El Salvador.   How would you describe the reception you receive in the States versus Central America?

Playing in Guatemala and El Salvador was just amazing. To see EDM culture outside of North America and Europe is always exciting to me. I rocked it on both cities with the Life in Color group.  Great reception to my sets and lots of fans in EL Salvador.

For the past decade you’ve been doing the Juicy Parties with your wife & partner, Monica, tell us a little bit about that journey & how it has grown over the years.

We started doing  events were called Juicy Friends and they both sold out pretty fast. The label was at it’s peak with the newly launch Beatport.com. Juicy was one of the first labels to sell downloads on Beatport & iTunes. There was a good buzz on the brand and the music so somehow this parties took off.  The first Juicy Friends we had Benny Benassi, Mark Knight, Gabriel & Dresden and more. The second Juicy Friends was at Opium Gardens and I remember negotiating with now LIV owner Dave Grutman. We moved to Nikki Beach because we needed a bigger space and Monica suggested Nikki Beach because we could do a day and night party. We also knew the owners well so the transition was easy.  The first Juicy Beach we had Bob Sinclar, Axwell, Steve Angello, Kaskade, Deadmau5. It was a different time.

Juicy Label news and releases you are excited about.

I am excited about my last single “Move Your Ass” currently #14 on the electro-house chart on Beatport so that’s cool. Its hard to chart on Beatport because of all the music kids buy nowadays sound the same. Same arrangement, sounds etc. I release bangers, but just stay true to what makes my sound different. We also have a new Phunk Investigation that’s very techy !

Born & raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico with homes in Ibiza & Miami. How do you stay connected to where you came from?

Great question. I like being at home in Miami a lot. I sold my villa in Ibiza so basically I tour in the weekend, chill at home with Monica, Roxy and in my studio.  I go to Puerto Rico once a year to visit my family.

What was the first real concert you attended as a kid?

I went to Scorpions and Bon Jovi when I was in 4th grade. It was awesome!

We are excited to see you perform at Governors Island this Saturday, August 24th. What can we expect?

I am gonna kill that stage! Last year was amazing. I will play very tribal, some bangers, some vocals and end it with a happy vibe.
