Offering another taste of their imminent forthcoming album Outer – the track follows the bittersweet euphoria of ‘Long Wait’ featuring Solomon Grey, industrial grime-meets-techno weapon ‘Sort It Out Sharon’ featuring Wiley, and the anthemic, ’90s electronica workout ‘Ingrid Is A Hybrid’. A journey through the respected duo’s many tastes and influences, the 11 tracks on Outer touch everything from Belgian techno, UK rave and progressive house to ambient, new beat and electronica, offering curveball collaborations with the legendary Gary Numan and the aforementioned Wiley along the way.
From the Orbital-referencing synth-and-strings crescendos of intro ‘All We Ever Needed’ to the UK house meets hardcore-era Prodigy of ‘Runny Nose’, the duo’s unique capacity for inventive sampling and cleverly reshaping their influences remains as dominant as it did on their breakthrough underground club singles ‘Careless’, ‘Flo Jam’ and ‘Love Taking Over.’
