TomorrowWorld Contributes $93.9M Toward State of Georgia

the heels of unveiling its phase I headlining artists last week,
TomorrowWorld, the world’s largest 21+ music festival and largest event
of any kind in the state of Georgia, has unveiled data around the 2014
event’s economic impact. A truly international affair, last year’s event
drew 160,000 passionate music fans from more than 75 countries and all
50 states over the course of three days, with more than 40,000 attendees
staying in the onsite camping city, DreamVille.

TomorrowWorld returns with its third edition, The Key To Happiness, this
September 25-27 to 8,000 acres of lush farm and woodland in
Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia, just outside Atlanta.

Below is a summary of statistics illustrating Georgia economic growth from TomorrowWorld 2014:

  • $93.9M of economic activity across the state, with $71.8M in new economic activity in the Atlanta region
  • $173M in combined economic impact from TomorrowWorld 2013 and 2014
  • $30.5M in labor income for workers in the Atlanta region
  • $4.7M in state and local taxes in Georgia, including $2.9M in state and local taxes from activity in the Atlanta region
  • 3.5 days were spent on average in the Atlanta area, per TomorrowWorld visitor.
  • This equals a 9% increase in Atlanta economic activity from
    TomorrowWorld 2014 vs. 2013. This is largely due to the increase in the
    number of participants, but also because per-participant spending
    increased 56% from 2013 to 2014.

project director of TomorrowWorld. “These numbers are a humbling
reminder that our work has a significant impact to our local community
and home.”

Originating from the legendary Tomorrowland festival, TomorrowWorld
debuted in 2013, generating $85M in revenue for the state of Georgia in
its inaugural year and setting a new bar as a truly international music
festival on a massive scale in the United States. The magical 3-day
music festival and 5-day camping experience combines nearly 300 DJs,
mind-blowing décor, animation, A-class camping, eccentric comfort areas
and gourmet food amid a breathtaking fantasy world backdrop.
TomorrowWorld is currently the nation’s most popular music festival on
Facebook with more than 6 million likes.

The festival announced the first phase of its lineup last week, which
included headliners David Guetta, Tiesto, Steve Angello, Hardwell, Armin
Van Buuren, Martin Garrix, any many more. Additional headliners and the
full lineup will be released shortly.

*Methodology: Research firm ICF International conducted economic impact
modeling to assess the impact generated by TomorrowWorld 2014. The
analysis includes the impacts of the organizer’s production-related
spending, expenditures made by out-of-town participants on lodging and
entertainment while in Atlanta, and event-related spending made by local
residents who participated in the festival. The analysis provides
estimated impacts for each of these spending profiles, as well as an
overall estimate of TomorrowWorld 2014’s impact.
