One of Ibiza’s most revered DJs, label owners, and record producers, Guy Gerber, today revealed the line-up for his forthcoming RUMORS New York on September 16. Guy will be joined by Detroit icon Delano Smith, alongside the bewitching duo of Thugfucker. The day into night open-air event will bring RUMORS’ singular production to the big apple: writhing snakes, Chinese lanterns, dragon dancers, and kimonoed servers will hold court in a sunset outdoor party scene unlike any other. The event is produced in conjunction with NYC’s Teksupport.

Greg Oreck and Holmar Filipsson, better known as Thugfucker, are the combination of an Icelandic security expert and American politician that realized their talents were better served on the dancefloor than in the public sector. The two received international fame and critical acclaim for their 2011 hit Disco Gnome.  They’ve seen support from the likes of superstar DJs like Jamie Jones, Pete Tong, Sasha, Loco Dice and of course, Guy Gerber.

Detroit-native and techno aficionado Delano Smith is a veteran of the Detroit Techno scene, growing up with legends of the era like Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson. After a brief hiatus in the 80’s, Delano Smith returned to the DJ circuit with force, taking up production alongside DJing. Crisp, clean techno with no gimmicks is Delano’s claim-to-fame, that and teaching Jeff Mills how to DJ.

RUMORS began as a clandestine residency on the beaches of Ibiza and is now in its fourth season on the island. It has since spread globally to host events in London, Tel Aviv, Sardinia, Mykonos, as well as Miami’s Art Basel and even hosting a RUMORS Hotel at BPM Festival in Mexico.

Earlier this year, Gerber and Harvey took over Ginling Alley in LA’s Chinatown for a mystical sold-out sunrise soiree. RUMORS has already played host to Sven Väth, DJ Harvey, Dubfire, Cassy, dOP, and more.

One thing about a rumor is that it takes a minute to start one and a life-time to stop it. Like any good guilty pleasure, a good Rumor is a little bit clandestine, a little bit naughty, and something you always want more of.
