NIGHTLIFEREVIEWS

Last Saturday at Wynwood Fear Factory was crazy to say the least! The announcement that Steve Angello could no longer play was disheartening but we were determined to still have a great time. But then a tornado formed in Miami two hours before the event and Tropical Storm Philippe was coming by nightfall. It was unclear if the doors would still open but when they did it was a full house despite it all. And it was an incredible experience to dance in the rain.

The event was held outside the Old RC Cola Plant so the event planners tried to make the best of the situation by selling rain ponchos at the door and granting everyone with a Saturday ticket admission to Sunday as well. In addition, the decked out VIP areas were under covered tents.

Plus, people came out to show off their creative costumes no matter what. There were cute couple costumes like Harley Quinn and the Joker and even Peter Pan and Tinker Bell. There were also plenty of funny costumes like Zach Galifianakis from the Hangover. And of course, there were plenty of IT clowns to scare you everywhere you looked.

There were also tons of haunted attractions and very Wynwood appropriate art installations throughout the venue to add a Halloween touch to the event.

The sets got switched around a bit due to the inclement weather but nonetheless Andrew Rayel, The M Machine, Porter Robinson and Cedric Gervais killed it! The DJ’s played particularly extra energetic sets than usual to keep everyone’s spirit up during the insane weather. The event went on strong until about 5 minutes before the end of Cedric Gervais’ set. The rain began torrential down-pouring and the winds picked up and everyone either took shelter, dancing like no one was watching or started swimming on concrete to get a few laughs.  The next day Oliver Heldens and Fedde Le Grande tried to make it up to fans with an awesome shuffle filled sunset set.
