Movement Detroit 2017 Reveals Over 65 Acts in Phase 1 Lineup

Movement Electronic Music Festival, one of the longest-running and most-acclaimed electronic music festivals in the world, is pleased to announce the Phase 1 lineup for 2017, led by dance music legend Carl Cox as headliner for the Main Stage on Monday. Detroit’s annual three-day revelry returns to Hart Plaza on Memorial Day weekend, May 27-29, 2017.

 

“I am really looking forward to coming back to the home of Techno, it’s been a few years now since I was there last, but I can finally say, I am coming back,” says Carl Cox. “I always have so much fun, with my DJ peers and the party people. I cannot wait to rock the dance floor once again. See you soon,” he continued. The Intec Digital label boss has encapsulated the hearts and minds of fans across the globe with his unique ability to blend and break down music barriers for over two decades. His latest project, “Pure Intec 3” is a two-disc compilation produced in collaboration with fellow label-head, Jon Rundell.

 

Festival organizers Paxahau Events revealed over 65 acts in today’s initial lineup announcement, featuring a very special Movement debut performance by Detroit Techno pioneers Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson as The Belleville Three. Other notable acts announced today include: Adam Beyer, Matthew Dear as Audion – live, Danny Brown, Dixon, Nicole Moudaber, Chris Liebing, Carl Craig, Joseph Capriati, Jamie Jones, Kevin Saunderson as E-Dancer – live, Kerri Chandler, Cassy, Robert Hood – live and Ben Klock, just to name a few. The Phase 1 lineup also features a slew of first-time Movement performers and performances, including Dirtybird label boss Claude VonStroke as his hip-hop alter ego Barclay Crenshaw; Los Angeles-based rapper, music producer and prominent member of the OFWGKTA crew, Earl Sweatshirt; Berlin-based Techno and House duo, Pan-Pot; Soul Clap’s debut as a live band (billed as Soul Clap – live); acclaimed London-based trio, Factory Floor (billed as Factory Floor – live); and dance music pioneer DJ Harvey. Other notable Movement debuts include: Mount Kimbie – live, ANNA, Death In Vegas present Transmission – live, Shiba San, Rodriguez Jr. – live, Dusky, Leon Vynehall, River Tiber and Kai Alcé, just to name a few.

 

3-Day GA Weekend Passes and 3-Day VIP Weekend Passes are now available at www.movement.us. Earlier this year, festival organizers announced that 2017 GA and VIP tickets will not increase above gate prices.
