Fans can hear Empire of the Sun’s new album in its entirety today as RollingStone.com gives Ice On The Dune its exclusive North American premiere. The 12 song collection will be released in the U.S. by Astralwerks on June 18. Ice On The Dune takes the conceptual vision of the band’s 2008 BRIT-nominated, global smash Walking On A Dream and goes widescreen – in hyper-real HD. It’s music for the heart, the head, the feet and the soul (head-dress optional) and it’s streaming here now.

In 2008, two of Australia’s leading musician/producers, Luke Steele (The Sleepy Jackson) and Nick Littlemore (Pnau), created a vision that seemed to come from an alternative reality – a post-apocalyptic psychedelic adventure known as Empire of the Sun. The resulting album, Walking on a Dream, went on to sell more than a million copies worldwide and contained the singles “We Are The People,” “Standing on the Shore” and the RIAA certified Gold hit “Walking on a Dream.” The adventure continues with Ice On The Dune, which Steele and Littlemore produced with the Walking on a Dream production team.

Empire of the Sun will perform at Bonnaroo this Saturday, June 15. The band will also headline numerous other festivals, including the Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Forest, Summerfest, HARD Summer 2013, Made in America and Life is Beautiful. The Australian group will make its U.S. television debut on June 18 on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”  Plus, MTV Iggy, MTV’s global music brand, and Intel have selected Empire of the Sun to kick off 2013’s “The Music Experiment” with a show in New York City on June 20. The interactive, multi-platform music series returns with new social gaming challenges that allow fans to access secret shows in four cities. Each “Music Experiment” show will be immersive, themed and set in elaborate and unusual secret venues with fans arriving in costume.

The video for lead single “Alive,” which can be seen here, was produced by Kelvin Optical, Inc., a division within Bad Robot, and already has more than three million views. The Times of London recently tapped “Alive” as “Track of the Week,” hailing it as “blissed-out dream-pop.” The Alive Remixes EP, featuring remixes by M4sonic, Mat Zo, David Guetta and Zedd, is No. 1 on Music Week’s Upfront Club and Cool Cuts charts in the U.K.
