MARCH 16, 2014
Day one of the inaugural Electric Daisy Carnival, Mexico kicked off Saturday with more than 40,000 smiling fans filling Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez with amazing energy.
As fans journeyed throughout the festival grounds they enjoyed four stages of booming beats from some of the top artists in the music industry today. Playful theatrical performers interacted with fans, as full scale carnival rides provided thrills and confetti filled the night sky. A giant Ferris wheel offered unparalleled views of Kinetic Field, where the iconic 100-foot-tall animatronic Owl made its Mexico City debut.
Interactive art installations added to the audiovisual playground including a fan favorite called “Wish.” The towering 50-foot sculpture captures the essence of wishing upon a dandelion using blown glass and mirror mosaic to form three flowers that illuminate at night.
EDC Mexico marks the second time that the celebrated festival has been held outside the US since its international debut to a sold out crowd in London during the summer of 2013.
