DUSKY SHARE ICY VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE “SORT IT OUT SHARON” FEATURING WILEY
Having recently announced the release of their forthcoming studio album Outer, UK production duo Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman aka Dusky share the video for current single “Sort It Out Sharon” featuring godfather of grime, Wiley. Watch the video BELOW. Outer will be released on October 14th via Astralwerks/17 Steps and is available for preorder.
Directed by Ben Reed and filmed on location in an ice factory in Thailand, with the sweeping, almost metallic, photo negative shots referencing the industrial percussion, pneumatic energy and Eskibeat influences within the track.
Speaking about the video, Dusky commented, “It was a great shoot by the director to explore the visual aspect of the ice making process as the imagery really suits the track and references Eskibeat in an interesting and abstract way.”
A bold hybrid of warehouse techno, raw grime freestyle from Wiley and classic rave influences, “Sort It Out Sharon” has seen tastemaker love and huge support across BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra with spins from Mistajam, Annie Mac, B Traits, Huw Stephens, Monki and Phil Taggart and a recent addition to the 1Xtra C-List, not to mention 6 Music plays from Mary Anne Hobbs and Tom Ravenscroft plus a raft of online love.
The single has also found a wider audience having been used to soundtrack the Adidas First Never Follows campaign, which teased the recent world record transfer of Paul Pogba to Manchester United two weeks before it was officially confirmed. Featuring collaborations with Gary Numan, Solomon Grey, Pedestrian and Wiley, Dusky’s forthcoming LP Outer represents the latest step in a journey that has seen Dusky appeal to electronic music fans of many ages and tribes. Favorites of Radio 1’s dance music curators Annie Mac, Pete Tong and Danny Howard, Dusky remain regulars on both Resident Advisor DJ polls and Rinse FM tracklists alike.
As DJs they have played everywhere from Berlin’s Panorama Bar and Ibiza’s DC10 to the biggest EDM festival stages in America. To coincide with the release of Outer, the duo will be embarking on a 15-date DJ tour of North America with dates in New York, LA, Miami, Chicago, Toronto, San Francisco and more – full dates are below.
