Coming off another exceptional year with over ten Beatport #1 releases, groundbreaking dance label Musical Freedom entered 2016 on a record high. Now entering its seventh year, Musical Freedom looks to the future with the announcement of AFTR:HRS, its debut sub-label.

Continuing
the high standard of excellence and innovation the Musical Freedom name
has become synonymous with, AFTR:HRS will provide audiences with a new
aesthetic and deeper sound, all the while maintaining the quality of
music fans have become accustomed to. Speaking to Billboard about how the idea for the label came about, Tiësto said,
“I have always loved playing deep house and more mellow tracks in my
radio show and my live shows but I also love to listen to it when I
drive or go out late nights or early mornings. I was listening to it so
much that I decided it was time to create a new label just to release
these types of tracks and also mix compilations so today we’re launching
AFTR:HRS.”

Having been teased on Radio 1 airwaves by both Pete Tong and Danny Howard, the first release off AFTR:HRS comes from BLR, an alias side-project of a producer yet to be announced.

Launched
by Tiësto in 2009, Musical Freedom has stood as a platform for diverse
and emerging sounds since its inception. A hub for both dance music’s
biggest players and its freshest faces, the label boasts a roster filled
with a variety of talent including Oliver Helens, The Chainsmokers, KSHMR, Martin Garrix and
more. With each cut selected and curated by the figurehead himself, the
imprint has built and maintained a sterling reputation of success, with
consistent top-charting singles and festival favorites.

BLR’s “NUNGWI” is set for release on May 20th via AFTR:HRS, stream audio below:
