Dusky are a duo at the heart of the UK’s current electronic music renaissance.
Striking out in style last year, the London pair’s breakthrough smash ‘Flo Jam’ ended up being named iTunes Dance Single Of The Year, while their contribution to BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix was named in the top three of the year by the Essential Mix team.
Going from strength to strength in 2013, Dusky’s Beatport deep house #1 ‘Nobody Else’ on Aus has already gone down as one of this year’s underground anthems with a string of quality releases following it.
This Fall Dusky will play an extended fourteen date North American tour, announced on the heels of their ‘Mr Man’ single for Anjunadeep – which has been supported by Sasha, Disclosure and Eats Everything. The tour will also coincide with Dusky’s forthcoming September release for Aus.
Dusky’s musical inspirations range from pianist Ahmad Jamal, to the Miles Davis and beebop that Alfie’s Father, a semi-pro jazz pianist, played him as a child, right through to the classic American house of Kerri Chandler and deep Detroit techno. Divergent interests, but somehow Dusky channel this into a coherent vision, underpinned by the unique groove and meticulous production that lies at the heart of all their work.
