Your Guide to DESERT DAZE 2019

We are days away from our journey into another dimension. Desert Daze 2019 arrives on October 10 to Moreno Beach in Lake Perris, CA with special sets from Devo kicking off “The Beginning of the End” with a sunset show on The Moon, and performances of iconic albums from Wu-Tang Clan with Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), The Flaming Lips performing The Soft Bulletin 20 years after its release, and a quarter-century celebration of Ween’s Chocolate & Cheese.

With sets that range from 90-minutes to two hours, these artists will bring their albums to life on stage and take you deeper into their classic catalogs. A few of the additional sets we are giving you include Friday with Stereolab, Animal Collective and DIIV, kicking off their tour with an exclusive Southern California performance; Saturday with Flying Lotus taking us on a psychedelic late-night 3D trip, The Locust returning for their first show in four years, Viagra Boys and Pussy Riot; and Sunday with Khruangbin, The Claypool Lennon Delirium, The Black Angels, ALVVAYS and Moses Sumney.

The weekend will also offer a look into the inner workings of some artists including Q&A’s with Les Claypool, Sean Lennon, and enigmatic Zamrock legends W.I.T.C.H.; screenings of rare music films throughout the weekend; art installations throughout the festival grounds; daily improv sets by UCB’s Cardinal Redbird is So LA, and we’ve tuned our resonant frequencies to The Mystic Bazaar with assembled mystics, musicians, shamans, healers, teachers and wanderers from all over the world leading workshops, ceremonies, yoga, meditations, and sound baths.

The “oasis among American festivals ( Stereogum )” features well-maintained state park camping facilities including brick and mortar bathrooms with running water, real showers, flushing toilets, and RV hookups. Watch your favorite performers from the back of an inflatable pegasus afloat Lake Perris. Swim or lounge on the beach among a forest of surreal sculptures and installation structures. Spin in place and count the mountains. The mountains are counting on you.

For Desert Daze’s second year in the location cited by Rolling Stone as “America’s most aesthetically pleasing…,” Desert Daze has made it a priority to improve entry traffic and all other avenues of your experience. The festival grounds will open on Thursday to allow campers early entry, and both the Moreno Valley entry on Via Del Lago and the Perris entry on Lake Perris Drive will be open to all festival traffic. Only parking credentials will need to be shown at the park entrances–all other credentials will be picked up once inside the park, on the festival grounds. All of these measures will allow vehicles to be processed much faster this year.

Festival entry is being streamlined this year, with two entrances of the park open to vehicle traffic: Lake Perris Drive and Via Del Lago.
