Premiered last Friday on Danny Howard’s BBC Radio 1 show, Sonny Fodera announced his new record label AARRIVAL with the imprint’s first single “Set Me Free.” Recognized for his signature sound and chart topping releases such as “Let Go” and “Feelin U,” “Set Me Free” follows suit with its design for maximum dance floor impact. The song is a tingling and infectious house cut, filled with chunky basslines and repetitions of the releases title.
With the titles of producer, DJ, and now label head, Sonny Fodera’s versatility has gained him international recognition at the forefront of dance music. Since being turned on to the scene by Derrick Carter, the Australian producer has fomented his own groove driven, emotive brand of house that resonates around the world. Turning heads from the start, his compilations on Deep Down and Defected did not go unnoticed and were followed by a collaborative affair featuring the likes of Doorly, Gene Farris, and Cajmere.
His collaboration with Cervendos, “Let Go,” sat in the Beatport Deep House Top 10 for 12 weeks straight in 2014, whilst more recently his single “Feelin U” with Yasmin shot straight to the #2 spot in the Beatport charts. The future is bright for Sonny as he embarks on a string of international tour dates for 2017 as well as an upcoming merch collaboration with Blood Brother and a new album Frequently Flying due on Defected later this year!
