Tonight,if you have found yourself way up north in Reykjavík, Iceland, you need to beheading to the beautiful Harpa Concert Hall to start day one of Sónar Reykjavík. Over the next three days I, myself, will be running around Harpa, and Reykjavík in general, armed with my camera and a wide-eyed, child-like enthusiasm for all things dance-music. This is the third year Sónar has come to
Reykjavík and it’s clearly getting more and more attention globally. When you combine the knowledge of the folks at Sónar with the strength of the underground dance music scene in Reykjavík and have one of the most beautiful countries on the planet as the backdrop, it’s easy to see why people are catching on.
Tonight I plan to focus on acts like Samaris, Futuregrapher & Jón Ólafs, and finish out the night with Todd Terje. We’ll see how this pans out.
