The collection is Sluggers’ heaviest mission statement to date, a five-track love letter to bass in all its forms

Following title track’s release earlier this month, Miami-based Sluggers debut the release of their EP Anthem, out now via Fool’s Gold. The EP kicks off with a skull-rattling title track punctuated by persistent drums and breathy hi-hats, leading into the sinister to the droning vibes of “Doses” followed by “M1,” with it’s wailing organ sounds and catchy beat. With “SDFMIA” and “So Much Love” wrapping up the collection, Miami nightlife has never sounded so wonderfully dark.

Anonymous crew Sluggers have quickly gained attention for their unique beat work and edgy, club-focused cuts. Earning support from artists like A-Trak, Diplo and Skrillex—the latter of which included their single “Rollex” in his debut BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix—the producers debuted their Phantom Fade EP on OWSLA and have gone onto notable releases including Voyager on Main Course, the Spank Rock collaboration “15 Hours” on Interscope, and their split release Courtesy / Hypr on Fool’s Gold Clubhouse.
