After teaming up with West Coast rapper/producer DJ Quik over the summer for their The Live Experience Tour, Scarface will be returning to the stage with his incredible guitar skills, performing alongside a live band.

Scarface recently announced an upcoming 10-song EP, Deeply Rooted: The Lost Files, set for release on December 15. The collection is an extension of his 2015 solo LP, Deeply Rooted, and contains six new songs and four alternate versions. Face also dropped a new video for his revolutionary song “Black Still” which will appear on the EP. The track is a re-creation of Public Enemy’s classic song “Black Steel In The Hour of Chaos.” Video directed by Dr. Teeth (Future, T.I., Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane).

The Houston rapper has racked up millions of album sales over his multi-decade career, along with five Billboard Hot 100 Singles. From his earliest verses in the late 1980’s as a solo artist and a member of the Geto Boys, to today, Face has always made sure to tell the stories he feels the world needs to hear. Whether it is speaking out against injustice, reflecting on his struggles with depression and his overall mental health, or just narrating the stories of the streets, Scarface is known for speaking the truth and tackling difficult subjects. Deeply Rooted: The Lost Files will be the last release before Scarface’s 30th Anniversary solo album, due out next year.

Regarded as one of the pioneers of hip-hop, Scarface came onto the scene as one-third of the Geto Boys and brought the attention of the hip-hop community to his hometown of Houston, as well as to the South as a whole. Scarface went on to become the head of Def Jam South and launched the careers of several southern rappers, including Ludacris.
