Global platinum-selling UK-based four piece
RUDIMENTAL have premiered the official video for their new single, “Lay It All On Me Feat. Ed Sheeran” off their new sophomore album, “WE
THE GENERATION” out via Major Toms/Big Beat, which went straight to #1
in the official UK Albums Chart upon release last month. Rudimental
will be joined by Ed Sheeran to debut their single for the first time on
US television airing on NBC’s
The Ellen DeGeneres Show on November 16th. Single will also appear on Ed Sheeran’s forthcoming “x-Wembley Edition” out November 13th.
The
video, shot in sleek black and white, puts us in the center of a series
of rooms, each with its own inhabitants and scenarios, each telling its
own part
of the story. And Rudimental is personally sharing this story with us –
this is the first time the four-piece has appeared in one of its own
videos.
Kesi, Locksmith, Piers and Amir are joined
by younger versions of themselves, a touching glimpse at how the band
has grown both as individuals and as a band and the various struggles
they have been through to get to where they are
today. Themes key to their journey – and in turn, the music they now
create – are explored; freedom, peace, struggle, frustration,
brotherhood, family, love and life.
“Lay It All On Me”
is a song about sticking together through the
hard times and being there for each other. The track has streamed over
30 million times on Spotify—reaching 1.7M per week in the U.S. alone.
Rudimental’s second album,
“WE THE GENERATION,” marks a progressive Rudimental, a
genre-defying collective that is continuing to change the face of dance
music. Released to critical acclaim last month, via
Major Toms/Big Beat, the album followed in the footsteps of their debut LP in the UK, marking their second number #1.
