Following his recent 22-date This Never Happened tour of North America that included sell-out shows at New York’s Warsaw, Toronto’s The Hoxton and LA’s Fonda Theatre among many others, Lane 8 has just released his hotly anticipated annual Winter mixtape

A 150 minute melodic journey of recent favorites and unreleased gems, it includes the forthcoming Ryan Murgatroyd remix of Lane 8’s own ‘With Me’ and the Patrice Baumel rework of Cubicolor’s ‘Dead End Thrills’ – as well as a host of exclusive edits from Lane 8 himself.

Always a special moment in the Lane 8 calendar, this year’s Winter mixtape is even more awaited due to the scarcity of recorded mixes from the This Never Happened head in recent months. Driven by his ambition to put the focus back on genuine dancefloor moments rather than social media recording, his This Never Happened concept has asked fans across North America to leave their cell phones alone, keep their cameras away and commit to connecting with music and the community it inspires right there in the moment – rather than recording it for later sharing.

“A lot of fans have been asking me on socials for recordings of the This Never Happened sets, which goes against the whole premise of the night… nothing is recorded, photographed or video’d. It’s all about what happens in that room at that moment. So this year’s annual mixtape is perhaps the closest musical experience for those who didn’t get to any of the events. It certainly isn’t a replay of any of the sets, but does include many of the tracks that were special for me across the tour. It was recorded in the last week of the tour. Enjoy.”  – Lane 8
