Breakout U.K. artist Jonas Blue has been touring the globe since the release of his dramatic, trop-house take on Tracy Chapman’s classic song “Fast Car” (featuring Dakota). In June, he will return to North America for his second tour of 2016. The headline run will kick off on June 15 at Soundcheck in Washington, DC and include a June 17 show at Up and Down in New York City. Tickets are on sale now. Blue will also perform at Kiss 98.5’s Kiss the Summer Hello 2016 in Buffalo, NY on June 19.
Streams of “Fast Car” (featuring Dakota) are now approaching 240 million on Spotify worldwide with 44 million in the U.S. alone, where the track is averaging four million streams each week. The song, which can be heard HERE, charted in the Top 10 of the Spotify Global Top 200 and within the Top 5 on iTunes in more than 55 countries.
Billboard hailed “Fast Car” as “a burgeoning across-the-board dance hit” when it came in at No. 1 on the Dance Club Songs chart while simultaneously appearing within the Top 10 of three other dance/electronic songs charts. Clash Magazine observed, “Jonas Blue is a 26 year old production prodigy, an electronic artist who simply seems to connect with a massive audience. Track after track has gone viral, with his new tropical-flavoured Tracy Chapman alteration ‘Fast Car’ gaining some serious chart traction.”
