Crookers’, aka Francesco ‘Phra’ Barbaglia, ‘Able To Maximize’ Remixes is out now via Ciao Records featuring a clutch of hotly tipped and established names. The set includes much lauded ‘Dirty Dutch’ producer Chuckie, jackin’ house duo Franskild, rising UK bass stars MAO, English garage/bass newcomer Suck Fake and fellow Italian and label mate Digi G’alessio. Fresh off his brand new single “Able To Maximize,” which premiered on SPIN.com, the remixes take the original “stomping house track” into diverse territories, always aimed at the dancefloor. Chuckie’s remix sees the track gain “some quintessential Dirty Dutch swagger…now primed for festival stages worldwide,” according to THUMP, while Franskild “picked up the wild track and reworked it with a darker and more club-directed undertone,” says Dancing Astronaut.
Phra’s previous singles, “Ghetto Guetta” and “Heavy” went back to the old school formula that gave Crookers its imitable sound and racked tens of thousands of plays on Soundcloud. Crookers remix of Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N Nite” reached #2 on the UK sales chart and Crookers’ debut album, Tons of Friends featured an all-star lineup that included Miike Snow, Pitbull and Major Lazer. Not one to rest on his laurels, Phra has already begun work on his next album planned for release this later this year.
