In the spirit of his new single “Heroes” featuring Tove Lo, last week Alesso announced a one night only at Webster Hall, selling tickets for an extremely awesome price of $10 and $15 in order to make it up to New York City for missing Electric Zoo back in August due to “severe weather conditions.” Alesso also decided to take his gift to us and promised every dime made in ticket sales would go to Gucci’s Chime For Change charity which strives to get education, medical attention and justice for women worldwide.

The tickets sold out in 49 seconds, raising over $50,000 for Chime for Change so he added a second show for November 4, that also sold out in seconds. The struggle was real to get tickets and Alesso took notice that some fans were disappointed so he then put up his personal guest lists for sale which were also 100% donated.

We attended night two on November 4, and it really was an intimate experience of Alesso. The venue never seemed so tiny, but with the increased demand of tickets, Webster Hall was truly a sold out house, crowded from the bottom to the top with people all trying to get as close as they could to the Swedish DJ.

Webster Hall was transformed to meet the needs of an elaborate light show that Alesso’s music thrives off of. The stage was covered in carefully placed light equipment to present a geometric effect and came with a full staff of stage crew prepared to make the simple yet enhanced experience of a light show.

Another special edition to the show was an option to take photos with friends at an Instaprint photo booth set up in the back that automatically printed out copies to take home, and could also be seen on the 2 screens above the stage showing a live stream of all the posts under the Instagram hashtag #alessoheroesnyc.

Aside from the ambiance, the show was eclectic from start to finish beginning with his opener Matt Goldman’s pumping set and especially after Alesso started his screaming “New York I’m feeling especially fucking good tonight” and we all all screamed back in agreement. He played some oldies like “City of Dreams” and "Lose My Mind“ that everyone in the crowd was waiting for, mixed in with a progressed hype of his insane new track ”Tear the Roof Up.“ Though, my favorite song he played had to have been ”Bad“ by David Guetta and Showtek, when I danced with Ansolo and Pierce Fulton who were just roaming around general admission!! By the end of his set, he ofcourse had to play the inspiration for the show, his newest track ”Heroes“ with Tove Lo.

Alesso literally gave his all, putting his time and money in for a great show and great cause. The night was definitely a memorable one, the entire production of sound and aesthetics was incredible, meeting Ansolo and Pierce Fulton was definitely a plus, and the price for it all was unbelievable. The night was enjoyed and we probably were really heroes and helped a whole bunch of girls enjoy their lives too.
