Red Bull Music Presents The Note: Zaytoven.  Spotlights Pioneering Producer Zaytoven’s Influence in Atlanta Music Scene and Beyond

Debut Album “Trap Holizay” Coming This Friday, May 25th

Red Bull Music announces that acclaimed Atlanta producer Zaytoven is the subject of the newest episode of its music documentary series, The Note. The series uncovers the vital creativity and engrossing personal journeys that profoundly impact our present day musical landscape. The Note: Zaytoven intimately explores the musical duality of Zaytoven: a renowned architect of modern trap music who is also a devoted church musician. These worlds, which might appear incompatible, in fact unforgettably merged in “Mama’s Basement” – the DIY home studio Zaytoven ran out of his parents’ Christian household which played host to the early recordings by some of ATL’s rawest rap talent. This is the origin story of modern trap music, an examination of the relationships tested and broken by the streets, and a celebration of spiritual resolve. The Note: Zaytoven is scored entirely by Zaytoven and will feature archival behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with collaborators and fellow innovators, including: Gucci Mane, OJ Da Juiceman, Young Dolph, Bankroll Fresh, and Cassius Jay. The documentary sets the stage for the arrival of Zaytoven’s forthcoming full-length debut album, Trap Holizay, coming this Friday, May 25th.

Known as a founding father of today’s highly popularized “trap music” sound that originated in the south, Zaytoven has carved the way by creating a unique footprint that has deeply permeated the music industry.

“This has been a journey of character for me,” stated Zaytoven. “My character is what has landed me to where I am today in my musical career. Without good character, I would not have been able to create history in the musical landscape.”

Zaytoven’s musical trajectory has touched the careers of such artists such as Gucci Mane, Migos, Future, Nicki Minaj, Yo Gotti, Yung Ralph, Usher, Shy Glizzy and others. He’s long possessed a passion for cultivating young talent, recognizing, supporting and developing new artists in ways that have allowed them to reach a broader audience.

Red Bull Music is committed to fostering creativity by celebrating music, its culture and the transformative minds behind it. Each episode of The Note tells the story of the people and events that shaped music history: from the creation of the sound-systems that revolutionized iconic parties like David Mancuso’s The Loft, to the seminal artist collaborations that inspired legendary composer John Cage, the making of Latin music pioneer Eddie Palmieri’s most pivotal album, the adventures of the young DJs and party promoters that dominated Los Angeles before gangster rap, and how disco came to conquer the world – and provoke a backlash of explosive proportions.

The Note: Zaytoven is available now on Red Bull Music’s YouTube and Facebook.
