The Blaze Share Incredible Video For “QUEENS” + Details of their Upcoming US Tour This Fall

French duo The Blaze released the incredible video for their new single “QUEENS” from their highly anticipated debut album DANCEHALL, which will be released this Friday, September 7th  on Animal63/Sony Music UK/RCA Records.

Watch “QUEENS” HERE.

This stirring new self-directed offering from the French cousins offers a sobering new insight into the world we live in today. As always, everything The Blaze create is open to total interpretation. The ambiguity of their music and film alike is arguably what makes the band so alluring, constantly launching the viewer high onto a bed of complex human emotions.

Set for release this Friday, their debut album, DANCEHALL is not be confused with the sound specific of the Jamaican genre but is instead a tribute to the scene itself, which originated in the 1940’s. The dance hall was created from a desire to simply come together and party, at a time when the only way to listen to your favorite artist was to come together in such a way. This was a place where people lived, loved and danced. An overwhelming sense of humanity surrounds all that The Blaze create and DANCEHALL is a complete reflection on said humanity.

“QUEENS” follows The Blaze’s “Heaven,” which, released earlier this spring, is the first single from DANCEHALL. Alongside their first releases “Virile” and “Territory,” the sumptuous video, cocomplete triptych.

Recently profiled in the NY Times, Sunday Arts & Leisure section (click HERE to read), The Blaze also delivered an incredible live performance at Coachella earlier this spring and are gearing up for their first North American headlining tour this fall in support of DANCEHALL.

One of my favorite past time in Barcelona is watching the sunset high atop Bunkers del Carmel. Without question, Bunkers is the best vantage point to see the entire city for free. Handsdown, the best place to have a sunset picnic.  Most importantly, it’s one of the only places in the city where you’ll find people from around the globe, from all walks of life, in all ages, in different sizes and shapes coexisting in harmony.

This past summer, as we waited for dusk, over Rioja, Iberico Jamon, and cheese a familiar song began playing on someone’s boombox. Within seconds, everyone got on their feet and started singing and dancing to The Blaze’s ‘Territory’ Next to me, were a couple of girls from Tokyo who spoke very little English, however, music transcends all boundaries. Thousands of miles from home, ‘Territory’ perpetually connecting us all. A treasured memory etched in time.
