This year’s Epizode truly was one for the books. Arguably its most conclusive and definitive to date, the Vietnam rave (which kicks off just after christmas and tends to last for a week or so after the new year) hosted killer sets from some of house and techno’s biggest names and leading lights, with everyone from Moodymann to Ricardo Villalobos to Agoria to DeWalta descending on Phu Quoq for what ended up being a magical few days. With stunning natural beauty aplenty, Epizode bags charm aplenty away from the music but, needless to say, the music was absolutely quality too. Here, we outline some of the big moments that the latest edition had up its sleeve. Safe to say we’re already looking forward to the next one!

Agents of Time

Agents of Time were the chefs for a techno breakfast that won’t be forgotten soon – not least because one of the people bend the booth dropped through the floor as the bass hit.

Jamie Jones

Jamie Jones served up a tough and physical set that got the large crowd in front of him marching as one. This synth laden tech roller was a real standout.

PAWSA

The jury is still out on this one – it takes a brave man to drop the Pink Panther theme but that’s what PAWSA did, and at the time the crowd loved his sense of humour.

Ricardo Villalobos

Another moment from Villalobos, who is always going to be one of the most talked about DJs at any event. This one is a real head twisting bit of writhing minimal that kept the floor bumping.

S.A.M.

A real moment of funk from SAM was a perfect reflection of the more laid back day time vibes at Epizode.

Raresh

As the sun beat down, you had to take cover under the canopy of the stages if you wanted to do marathon dancing sessions. Which you did, cause Raresh in particular was in fine form and this percussive workout shows why.

LEHAR

The lights behind Lehar really added a nice dimension to his set, and when he dropped this ethnic techno roller, they went off with extra pizzazz, just like the crowd.

youANDme

youANDme on the Main Stage at 11:30pm on New Year’s Eve was a fine place to be. The Berlin don dropped some piano laced house that built up to a fantastic midnight hour and got the reactions it deserved.
