Following the recent cancellation of the twenty-third edition of Switzerland’s m4music festival (due to on-going health concerns surrounding the Coronavirus outbreak), the long-standing Zürich-based event, which was scheduled to take place between 19-21 March, 2020, will now be supplanted by a replacement streaming festival, branded ‘m4music 2.0’.

Despite the cancellation of the original festival, the spirit and discovery of the m4music team remains unbroken, and from 19-21 March, m4music will now bring the festival mood to screens in the form of a live stream – offering free-of-charge content for the public and for the Swiss music scene alike.

Philipp Schnyder, Festival Director of m4music, explains:

“Our festival has not only been committed to the public for over 20 editions – we have also established ourselves as an integral part of the Swiss pop music agenda. It is therefore clear to us that m4music should not be deleted without replacement. The whole team is currently working flat out on our digital festival 2020. We look forward to announcing the details in the next few days”.

Already purchased tickets and festival passes for the twenty-third edition of m4music will be reimbursed by the Migros Culture Percentage, handled by ticket provider, Starticket. Information on this can be found on the Starticket website.

m4music is an official partner event of the Innovation Network of European Showcases (INES) – a pioneering artist development project co-funded by the European Union and online booking platform gigmit, set up to promote and nurture up-and-coming European artists.

Further details about ‘m4music 2.0’ will be announced over the coming days.
