erfect house music for the sunrise sessions

It’s full steam ahead for Manchester’s Pirate Copy as he begins the year with a two-tracker dropping on Distance Music, one of the underground’s most exciting and consistent imprints through 2018. After seeing the New Year in on a four-date Latin America tour, Pirate Copy’s focus turns to productions and his first release of the year is one which shows a different side to his sound in a worthy follow-up to the EPs on Solá, Relief and Moon Harbour that fans heard from him last year.

Pirate Copy – The After Party

A groovy affair that weaves an extended vocal sample through 303 synths, strings and an intricate drum arrangement makes this the perfect cut for those sunrise sessions. After Party in name, After Party in style – Pirate Copy’s productions have matured considerably over the last 12 months and this is the perfect track to open what is sure to be a strong year for the scene’s most exciting names.

Pirate Copy – Bounce To This

Following on with Bounce To This, the EP takes us deeper into Pirate Copy’s roots with a slice of feel-good house that has an undeniable tribal vibe and a bassline dripping in funk to back it up. There’s no obvious drop her, this is pure energy that is designed with a dance floor in mind and is a sure-fire cut to keep people moving no matter what time the After Party starts.

Supporting Marco Carola in February alongside shows in Newcastle, London, Barcelona, Sheffield, Maidstone and Sunderland with his Kaluki brand, and a stage at We Are FSTVL later in the summer, Pirate Copy is certainly using 2019 to develop as an artist and put his stamp on a scene that he’s been an integral part of for over two decades.
