This weekend, South African native DJ/producer MartyParty is bringing his genre-bending hip-hop and electronic dance tunes to NYC’s Slake this Friday (9/12).
After years of living the life of a computer programmer, MartyParty decided to swap his programming software for Ableton Live in 2005 and went on to produce 8 original studio albums while simulatenously touring North America. He also joined forces with Ooah of The Glitch Mob to create the mega duo PANTyRAID in 2008.
Whatever the genre, MartyParty has always strived to create music that is experimental, diverse, and catches the listener by surprise. The result is something rich, unique, and stand-out which he has dubbed “purple music”.
With a string of all-new releases and an album scheduled for this fall, MartyParty is certainly an artist to keep your eye on in the coming months.
