Dutch DJ Robbert van de Corput, known as Hardwell on stage, couldn’t have been more grateful to fulfill one of his dreams and play at Madison Square Garden in New York City this past weekend. At “The World’s Most Famous Arena,” the venue you get to play when you can finally say you made it. And The Garden was filled up with Hardwell fans ready to see this emotional performance, ending the two year long I Am Hardwell tour journey with more than a bang.

MSG was different from any other show, not only because of the status of the venue, but because of the environment as well. The Garden is well aerated, and allowed plenty of personal space to dance because of the sections and seating. In addition, there was literally your own air to breathe (because of the high ceilings), which is definitely not the usual case. To add to the comfortable experience, the venue also provided professional lighting and sound for enhanced visuals and vibes to echo through the arena’s walls that have heard the talented greats from the music to the sports industry.

Tour buddy, Dutch DJ Dannic started the arena sized party off with an energized set before Hardwell began a crazy 3 HOUR set, that just never seemed to be long enough. He played many different tracks such as some of his favorited constantly played on Hardwell On Air such as “Rise Up” by Kill the Buzz as well as popular favorites such as David Guetta and Showtek’s “Bad.”  He ofcourse had to play all of his own favorites throughout the show  "Arcadia“, ”Apollo“, ”Dare You“, ”Jumper“, and many more. Hardwell played a diverse set, from typical festival music that everyone just never gets over, that you just sing along and sway to, to the most energetic beats and down to the bassiest. He even played a few new unreleased tracks such as United We Are that’s not out until January!! The variety kept the crowd dancing, with rest and interest for the entire 3 hours. Personally, I didn’t even want to leave to get a bite to eat or drink to miss even a second.

In the last 15 minutes, Hardwell tried to play us by pretending to end his set until we roared and demanded him back to finish. When he got back up he gave big thanks to everyone on the I Am Hardwell tour.

Then he began his cute and special New York themed set including a throwback to Frank Sinatra’s ”New York, New York“ and thenhe asked everyone to light up the arena with whatever they had before playing ”Empire State of Mind“ came on and Alicia Keys sang "One hand in the air for the big city, street lights, big dreams, all looking pretty.”

Hardwell sweetly ended the show and entire I Am Hardwell tour how he ended every show, with one of the songs that lifted off his career, none other than “Spaceman.” His insane Spaceman mix let the crowd get out their last jolt of energy until they were sad it was over. Then Hardwell invited everyone out to Pacha for a back to back with Dannic!! The party never ended and the crowd was glad it didnt, and that’s probably why he’s #1.

2015 is a new year and I can’t wait to see what Hardwell is cooking up for the United We Are era.
