The Worlds Apart EP goes beyond just being a typical collection of songs as it is a truly astonishing work of art with emotional depth that is undeniably apparent at first listen. Watch Seven Lions’ Worlds Apart EP trailer here, below.

Seven Lions doesn’t waste any time in setting a strong tone for his Worlds Apart EP by opening up with his gripping collaboration with Ellie Goulding. In “Don’t Leave,” he weaves layered melodies, a silky bass line, and Goulding’s addictive vocals together with both a down tempo feel, and a fresh trance-leaning rush of energy that makes for an staggering piece. Next up is the EP’s title track, “Worlds Apart” with Kerli, that dives deeper into his new sounds and brings a balance of elegance and bass-heavy synth work, while Kerli rounds out the song with thought-provoking lyrics. The only instrumental on the release, “Nepenthe,” follows suit with a darker vibe, but Seven Lions utilizes dynamic rhythms, a massive, growling synth, and gorgeous lead melodies to ensure that it can easily stand alone.

Next on the EP, the hit song “Strangers” with Myon & Shane 54 and Tove Lo, is the intersection of Seven Lions’ electronic influences with the combination of its unexpected half-time breakdown and euphoric trance sequences. The last song on the release, “Keep It Close” with Kerli, then sends fans off with its spine-chilling, cinematic arrangement and fantasy-like story. With this major release, Seven Lions begins anew to reach the hearts of new and old fans, while building a universe of his own.
