What do Skrillex, Dillon Francis, Nero, Porter Robinson, and Zedd have in common aside from headlining sold-out clubs and festivals around the world? They were all once aspiring DJs with little more than a laptop and a dream, and they all made their LA debut inside the bass-rumbling walls of Avalon Hollywood.

While the storied club’s Avalon Saturdays are reserved for bona fide heavyweights such as Tiësto, Alesso, John Digweed, and Paul Van Dyk; Friday nights at CONTROL have been breaking ground for DJs who have gone on to become some of dance music’s foremost figures.

In partnership with world-leading audio manufacturer Pioneer DJ, Avalon is hosting the Pioneer DJ Lounge, a new area focused on showcasing all the bubbling talent Los Angeles has to offer. Combing through local production schools like Icon, Dubspot, Musicians Institute, collectives such as Nap Girls, White Rabbit, Magnetic Mag, and everything in between, it’s about taking a truly grassroots approach to offer up-and-coming artists an opportunity to seize their dream.

1735 N. Vine has been at the center of Hollywood nightlife since it opened in the 1920s, hosting music legends including Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, and the Rolling Stones back in the day. When Avalon took over in 2003, it was a precursor to dance music’s modern-day revival in LA. Today, it’s one of the longest-running club brands in America and a fixture among Best Club polls.
