Buku is not your ordinary uprising DJ hailing from Pittsburgh. Over the past few months, the young Artist /DJ /Producer has attracted extraordinare taste-markers on both sides of the pond. Namely Diplo, along with UKF founder, Luke Hood, whose recent brainchild is Pilot Records, the label behind Fooled, Buku’s 4 song EP release was released yesterday, July 1st.

 
The brand-new Fooled EP builds on Buku’s natural ability to stun and surprise listeners with his unique take on his compositions. The first single and title track“Fooled” sets the anthemic tone of the EP which hinges on simple yet euphoric builds to revel in. Lead track “Booty Clapasurus” ravages your hips in true bass style, awakening you with that propulsive ass-shaking beat following those scowling kick and bass drop combos. While sampling almost alarming vibrations in “Slap It,” Buku combines smooth yet emotive melodies similar to the climax of a horror movie. Rightfully so, you can vividly hear how his biggest inspiration comes from film composers such as Hans Zimmer. Closing out the EP is a lulaby-ish nightmare apporpirately titled “Tip Toe” with its haunting soprano vocals chanting the spooky lyrics “middle of the night,” all before Buku drops in an aggressive distortion of furor that will have you second-guessing his motives.
