Today, Haitian producer Michael Brun has released an official remix of One Republic’s recent single, ‘Lift Me Up’. OUT TODAY VIA MOSLEY/INTERSCOPE RECORDS.
Brun’s remix is decisively more dance oriented than the original, adding playful synths and percussive builds that are akin to his trademark sound. Initially, Brun had planned to release his version as a run-of-the-mill remix, but when Ryan Tedder caught wind of it, he was insistent on adding some further production himself and releasing Brun’s remix as the official remix of the track.
Michael Brun’s ‘Lift Me Up’ is his first follow up record since dropping another official remix earlier this year, of Fletcher’s stand out single, ‘Wasted Youth’. Brun’s official remix has amassed well over 1 million plays on the Trap Nation YouTube channel, cementing his status as one of the most in-demand remix producers in electronic music today. This year is set to be a busy one for Michael Brun. He’s currently organizing the second annual ‘Wherever I Go’ Festival in Haiti, to raise funds for the Audio Institute, a music school on the island in which he is heavily involved. Although the official festival date has yet to be announced, it is expected to happen sometime in the latter months of 2017.
