Ritty van Straalen is no stranger to ID&T. Joining the company back in 2002, Van Straalen quickly became a member of the board of directors in 2006 until 2012. In 2013 he moved to New York (USA) where he opened – among other things – one of the foreign ID&T-offices. Shortly after that Van Straalen was appointed CEO of SFX’s live branch, at the time the parent company of ID&T. After returning from New York, Ritty started a company, Fourmation Experience Pioneers, with three partners.
CEO Wouter Tavecchio is pleased with the return of the operational top executive. “Ritty and I led the company together from 2006 to 2012. During that period, ID&T merged with Q-dance and gained worldwide fame through the international tour of Sensation and exponential growth of Tomorrowland. Ritty brings an immense amount of experience. He not only knows our products and the market but is also well equipped to identify new opportunities. I for one am really happy with his return and am looking forward to expanding ID&T’s market position together with Ritty and our 100 employees.”
According to Ritty his move to ID&T is not only exciting, but also a very special step forward. “After seven years of absence it really feels good to be back at ‘the old stompin’ grounds’. ID&T has grown at an impressive pace the last few years and continued to build on its brand portfolio. ID&T is now ready for a new phase, one in which quality, innovation and growth are central themes. I’m really looking forward to contributing to that.
ID&T expects to further grow the next few years by expanding its current brand portfolio, developing new IP, utilizing its knowhow in different segments of the event branch and increasing its participations and partnerships. Recently ID&T took a 50% stake in Art of Dance and in booking agency Most Wanted DJ.
ID&T is founded in 1992 and organizes approximately 80 events a year. The ID&T-group includes the companies b2s, ID&T Events, Q-dance, Monumental (Awakenings), AIR and events such as Mysteryland, Amsterdam Open Air, Milkshake, Thunderdome, Defqon.1 Weekend Festival, Qlimax, Awakenings, Decibel Outdoor and Masters of Hardcore.
With its events ID&T draws more than one million visitors a year. Part of the ID&T-group are also Platinum Agency and booking agency Most Wanted DJ, two of the world’s largest hard dance agencies in the world, and management agency Headliner Entertainment.
