Much more than a ghost in the machine, the technical minds behind GAIST
have been honing their craft and refining their skills in an unforgiving
industry for over a decade. United by a passion for driving rhythms
behind the darkest techno, the pair have already taken their inimitable
sound across the globe and in the process have caught the attention of
some of the scene’s biggest and most revered names.
A two track stomper, the Trigger EP is a statement of intent from the
off. As the title track’s warehouse vibe, scattered FX and rumbling bass
keeps things shaking for the duration, Division is an altogether
moodier affair that showcases the duo’s darker side and blurs the line
between House and Techno. Few producers lend their hand to such
consistently polished releases, but with GAIST it is a matter of course
that we hear and feel every single frequency that they demand from their
tracks.
With Richie Hawtin featuring unreleased material from the duo in his
recent Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1, and a catalogue of vocal support
from key players including Claude Vonstroke, there’s a consistency to
the successes that GAIST have achieved so far that will lead them right
to the top.
