IMS ENGAGE has announced its final two pairings for its annual IMS Engage Conference at W Hotel Hollywood. Iconic producer Arthur Baker will converse with Oscar nominated film director John Singleton, and digital entertainment industry veteran and TAG Strategic founder Ted Cohen will be paired with the President of Music at Universal Pictures Mike Knobloch.

The two pairs will join previously announced participants Pete Tong and industry commentator Bob Lefsetz, Live Nation’s President of Electronic Music James Barton and AM Only’s Vice President of the East Coast office Lee Anderson (Skrillex, Disclosure, Claude Vonstroke), and WME’s Head of Music Marc Geiger with Sonos CEO John MacFarlane.

When
it comes to the digital side music, whether its licensing or marketing,
distribution, etc, no one knows it better than Ted Cohen. He is a
veteran of the entertainment industry, having held management position
at EMI Music, Warner Bros. Records, and Philips Media,
prior to founding his consulting firm TAG Strategics.  Over his long and
impactful career, Ted has been an integral part of maximizing the reach
and appeal of musicians like Dave Matthews, Santana, The Cranberries, Dolly Parton, Neil Diamond,
and dozens of others.   He has helped mold and direct digital strategy
for companies such as Napster, Microsoft, Universal Studios, and
Dreamworks. As a founder of the digital consulting firm TAG Strategics,
Ted has worked with behemoth brands Coca Cola, Verizon, SanDisk, and
countless others.

Mr.
Cohen is joined in conversation by the President of Film Music and
Publishing at Universal Pictures Mike Knobloch. If you’ve been to a
movie in the past decade, then you’ve probably witnessed a work
influenced by the experienced hands of Mr. Knobloch. He’s overlooked the
musical direction of films ranging from Titanic, to Avatar, to the Bourne Identity, to The Devil Wears Prada.
Before joining Universal Pictures in 2010, Mr. Knobloch was the Vice
President of Music at Fox Music. He’s helped align the cinematic vision
of a film with artists such as Florence and The Machine, Moby, M83, and
many more.

The second pairing features Arthur Baker, an American record producer best known for working with hip hop acts Afrika Bambaataa, Planet Patrol, and New Order. Mr. Baker was a prominent fixture in 80s dance music, being known for remixing the records of acts like the Pet Shop Boys,
Cindy Lauper, and Bruce Springsteen into dance-centric beats, along
with producing and co-writing some of the decade’s biggest dance
originals: New Order’s ‘Confusion’, Freeez’s ‘I.O.U.’, etc. He’s also
produced and remixed for Hall and Oates and Bob Dylan, solidifying a
career that has greatly influenced the present day feel and
acceptability of electronic dance music.

Mr. Baker will be speaking with John Singleton – an oscar nominated director known for films such as Boyz n the Hood, Poetic Justice, Rosewood, Shaft, and 2 Fast 2 Furious. For Boyz n the Hood,
Mr. Singleton was nominated for Best Original Screenplay and Best
Director at the age of 23, making him the youngest person ever to be
nominated for the award. Mr. Singleton’s conversation with Mr. Baker
shows IMS’s continued effort to explore the impact  and interaction of
electronic music in the greater field of entertainment.

With
its three previous events IMS Engage has emerged as a key event in the
music North American music industry calendar. Previous speakers include
