Berlin’s nightlife in transition: from the divided city on the club scene of the nineties to today’s party metropolis. Who was there from the beginning? Based on the three exciting biographies of the most legendary bouncers in Berlin, BERLIN BOUNCER tells of the reasons and abysses of this development.

Berlin Bouncer (Trailer):

Frank Künster came from West Germany into a city in which Smiley Baldwin as American GI still guarded the border to East Berlin and Sven Marquardt was suddenly surprised by the turnaround as a young East German punk and photographer. Soon they got caught up in the wild Berlin nightlife of the nineties and in the new millennium, they became the notorious selectors of the hottest clubs in the city, whose doors and secrets they keep until today.

This film is about 50 years old and different life designs. He traces Berlin’s cultural history from the fall of the Berlin Wall to the vibrant present. We are accompanied by the unique sound of a city and its clubs, which turns the night into daylight for the three protagonists and the party-goers. The Berlin techno and guitar sound of the nineties, which was for example influenced by Westbam and the Einstürzende Neubauten, will be musically and effectively transmitted to BERLIN BOUNCER by David Specht and Max Bauer / Isolation Berlin and Basti Schwarz / Tiefschwarz.
