With a genuine spirit of love, positivity and inclusion propelling them forward, Crew Love makes their triumphant return to Brooklyn for their third annual hometown throwdown this summer at NYC’s most influential outdoor space, The Brooklyn Mirage on Sunday, August 19. Headlined by UK legend Nightmares on Wax (DJ Set), Metro Area, and Crew Love founders Soul Clap & Wolf + Lamb, they will also be joined by gender-bending boy wonder Nick Monaco, No Regular Play, The Whooligan, Venus X, G.L.A.M. and Montreal newcomers Fitness & Pony Live. With art by Miami-based Natasha Tomchin, the event will feature both Crew Love favorites, up-and-coming artists, and unique surprises for an all-day, all-out celebration of art and music.
Welcoming people of all colors, creeds and orientations, Crew Love invites attendees to get in the groove from day-to-night as they celebrate all things love and unity with a plethora of talented artists. Trip-hop legend Nightmares on Wax, deep in touring in support of his critically-acclaimed 2018 album ‘Shape The Future,’ will treat fans to a special DJ set alongside a headline performance by New York future-funk legends Metro Area. DJ duo and Crew Love founders Wolf + Lamb will return to their hometown of Brooklyn alongside fellow founders Soul Clap, who are still riding high from the February release of their ‘Keep Funkin’ album with Nona Hendryx. Crew Love’s own No Regular Play, Nick Monaco, who recently stepped back on the scene with his deep and complex single “River,” will also deliver a riveting hybrid DJ performance.
Rounding out the lineup are Soulection’s own The Whooligan, world-renowned GHE20G0TH1K founder Venus X, the soulful Josh BWC, New York City’s own DJ mOma and G.L.A.M. (live), with each and every performer ready to bring the house down with their craft. Sensory experiences will be elevated thanks to Miami based visual artist Natasha Tomchin who continues her globally renowned stunning installation Digital Dreamscapes series, this time harnessing The Brooklyn Mirage’s 15+ point projection system.
With a communal spirit in mind, Crew Love was founded in 2015 by legendary producer duos Wolf + Lamb (aka Zev Eisenberg and Gadi “Baby Prince” Mizrahi) and Soul Clap (Lonely C and Bamboozle). The collaborative project has gone on to provide a home for artists like No Regular Play, Nick Monaco, Pillowtalk, and more recently a launching ground for newcomers The Fitness & Pony and more.
In its two year history, The Brooklyn Mirage too has become a safe haven for inclusion and freedom of expression. Nestled in the simultaneously industrial and artistic haven of East Williamsburg, the massive space has hosted explosive concerts, Pride events, Day of Peace celebrations and everything in between, with patrons of all backgrounds welcome under the breathtaking NYC skyline. Between the atmosphere and the state of the art KV2 sound, top of the line lighting, dazzling 3D video projection mapping and various viewing platforms stretching four stories into the sky around the massive dancefloor, the venue represents the ideal landing pad for this late summer event.
