Up and coming 16-year-old producer/DJ Callie Reiff teams up with fellow rising bass star, KANDY, for the second single off of her Shadow Dancing EP, “Jawbreaker,” due out Friday, October 14th via Fool’s Gold Records. The NYC teenage wunderkind has been on a hot streak lately as her latest endeavors have included joining Skrillex on stage during NYFW, announcing her forthcoming EP, and finally, earning the highest number of views on Complex’s Facebook live stream during her set last week. After racking up over 110,000 plays in a week on “Shadow Dancing,” Callie Reiff tries her hand at bass house for a vicious collaboration with the help of fellow New Yorker, KANDY, who is also a burgeoning artist.
Sampling a commanding, reggae-infused topline from the RaGa Twins atop a hasty four-on-the-floor backbone, “Jawbreaker” is rips ahead as the prodigious duo open fire an arsenal of breakneck bass quivers and screeching sawtooth synths. With this follow-up release, Callie Reiff makes a definitive statement as she aptly demonstrates her ability to excel at a variety of genres within bass music.
Earlier this year, Callie put out a few outstanding releases, including her single, “Tin Machine” with Ronaissance, via NEST. On top of her own productions, she has also continued to bolster her profile further with notable DJ gigs like her set at the OWSLA x NYFW showcase alongside Skrillex, a back-to-back with Mija at Output two months ago, and a support slot at Big Gigantic’s show at Terminal 5 this past spring, amongst others.
