What’s Going On – Watergate Club Week 11

Upcoming lineup at Watergate – 13th March thru 17th March 2019

This Week – Watergate Club

Wednesday, 13th March – Home Again

Some time ago, Frits Wentink mixed a beautiful podcast for the groove, which we could also place here instead of this text, because he says it all: “The wonderful thing about house is its disco, funk, jazz, soul, hip hop influenced dance music.” His EPs and numerous remixes for Detroit Swindle, among others, are praised by critics. With the Berlin-based Thabo Getsome and Sally C, who plays at “Home again” tonight and the plates on the MK2 pump and spin as surely as a bag at sunset in Görlitzer Park.

Thursday, 14th March – Magdalena Presents

Magdalena is the young woman in the round of the successful Hamburg label Diynamic and was for many years one of the main responsible persons of the ego club. Meanwhile, she has released in almost every trendy store between Amsterdam, Berlin, and Ibiza and published EP’s on Diynamic and Rebellion. For her own party series “Shadows” she always tours an entire weekend with an artist through three different venues. This weekend with La Fleur – and the prelude, of course, with us today at Watergate.

Friday, 15th March – Try Land

After the more than epic 12-hour demolition in February, the March edition of the notorious Berlin Techno Republic may, of course, be expected to show similar results. Try land obliged. As a guest of honor in the LED arena at Second State rocket researcher THE REASON Y, MATHIAS KADEN is the first to dance: likable, surprising, full of verve and that on the decks for 20 years. There is still nothing like the feeling of experiencing it live. Of course, he picks up the vibes of the crowd and adds his magical energy. No set is like the other. Also with his releases on Vakant, Desolat, Watergate, Pets, and Ovum as well as 80 (!) Remixes for acts like Trentemøller, Kink, Monika Kruse, Santé, Matt Tolfrey or Sven Tasnadi he dismissed worldwide.

One floor down, the Berlin Underground Techno Capacities PAULI POCKET, TONY CASANOVA, and ROCKO GARONI are enjoying “on the water” – as usual for twelve apocalyptic hours. #alltogether

Saturday 16th March – Watergate Club Nacht

A Dj like no other for parties “full of color, fun and Balearic vibes.” Our Watergate Night brings you a piece of Ibiza to Berlin with Hot Since 82 today. After a few years full of tours and little time in the studio, his new album “8-Track” will be released this month and the previously released single “Buggin” could not be more beautiful. All in all, with our Residents Matthias Meyer, the RISE crew members Hyenah and Floyd Lavine, as well as KEENE and Kristin Velvet, there is a feel-good program that looks like summer. Is so soon again.

Sunday, 17th March – BEWEGUNGSFREIHEIT #14 X STAUB

With the 14th freedom of movement, we are visiting the Watergate Club for the fourth time. Together we want to support people with a refugee background again. Thousands on life-threatening routes are still searching for their way to Europe. If they arrive safely in Germany, bureaucracy, as well as illegality and homelessness often wait for them.

In order to improve the situation of those affected, freedom of movement is still endeavoring to set up successful soli events in order to strengthen individuals and support structures. Together, we can at least do a small part in countering the repressive status quo.

As usual, we have put together a high-quality musical program that will accompany us and you on two floors through Sunday. Particularly Noteworthy is that our friends of the DUST are back and the Waterfloor in the afternoon will play. In addition to the party, we also show photographs by Katharina Behling from her series “No Man’s Land” in the back room of the Waterfloors. http://www.katharina-behling.de/portfolio-2.html

Our Awareness team is always available at the information desk if the situation requires it.

Refugees Welcome! Sexism, racism, homophobia etc. stay out!

All profits of the entrance fees and the bar benefit refugees in and outside Berlin as well as their protest and support structures.

This time around donations will go to the following groups:
Citizens Asylum Berlin
Help4people in Berlin eV
Lampedusa Berlin
